Job description

Axiom Custom Products is where creativity meets precision manufacturing. Serving the creative, events, retail, and construction industries, Axiom has built a reputation for delivering exceptional custom fabrication through advanced digital manufacturing, deep technical expertise, and a relentless commitment to quality. From concept to installation, our in-house capabilities allow us to take on ambitious, one-of-a-kind projects and execute them at a level that sets us apart in the industry.
We are seeking a skilled and driven Metal Manager to lead and elevate our metal fabrication operations. This is not a desk-bound management role, it is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives on the shop floor, takes pride in craftsmanship, and knows how to guide a team through complex, high-pressure builds. As Metal Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the metal shop, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and to exacting quality standards. You will play a critical role in planning and scheduling production, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that every project moves through the metal shop smoothly and on time.
In this role, you will be responsible for translating project requirements into clear work instructions, setting operating procedures, and ensuring your team has everything they need to succeed, from raw materials and consumables to technical guidance and training. You will partner closely with operations, purchasing, CNC, and engineering teams to keep workflows aligned and proactive, preventing delays before they happen. Your attention to detail will be essential as you inspect cuts, fit-ups, and welds, and perform quality control to ensure all work meets project specifications and Axiom's high standards.
A successful candidate brings both leadership experience and technical mastery. You have a strong background in metal fabrication, including MIG and TIG welding, and are confident reading and interpreting technical drawings. You are highly organized, solutions-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing environment. You know how to motivate and develop a team, enforce safety protocols, and maintain a clean, efficient workspace that minimizes downtime and maximizes productivity.
This role requires adaptability and resilience. Axiom operates in a dynamic environment where no two projects are the same, and deadlines matter. You will be expected to anticipate challenges, manage labor hours effectively, and communicate proactively with leadership about production needs and constraints. Your ability to balance quality, speed, and team performance will directly impact project success and customer satisfaction.
Working at Axiom means being part of a collaborative, hands-on team in a large-scale fabrication facility where innovation and craftsmanship go hand in hand. The shop environment is active and industrial, with exposure to machinery, tools, and fabrication processes, and we maintain strict safety standards to protect every team member. For those who enjoy seeing their work come to life in real-world applications from installations to large-scale builds, this is an opportunity to make a tangible impact.
We invest in our people, mentor them, empower them to achieve, and offer growth opportunities. Many of our key positions are the result of promoting from within. We offer a fantastic career opportunity with excellent pay, 401k and Roth investment options, and robust medical, as well as, dental and vision benefits (with additional cost dependent coverage options). Best yet, in year two and beyond, you accrue 20 days of PTO! Combined with paid holidays, our benefits are some of the best in our industry.
If you are a leader who takes pride in precision, thrives under pressure, and is ready to shape and grow a high-performing metal fabrication team, we invite you to tell us about yourself informally under "cover letter." Let's talk!
The pay range for this role is $36/hour to $42/hour.
