Metal Fabricatorย 

Reports to:ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Operations Manager

Status:ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Primary Objective: The responsibilities of the Metal Fabricator are to cut, bend, using roll bending equipment, drill, grind/prep and paint tubular and flat metals. ย This individual will work with a wide variety of equipment and materials, working from engineered drawings and instructions.

Hiring for first shift 7:00 am to 3:30 pm M-F.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Starting wage: $17-18 per hour based on skills and experience

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Cutting
    • Cut tubular and flat metals using horizontal band saws and chop saws
  • Bending
    • Bend tubular and flat metals using roll bending equipment
  • Drilling
    • Drill tubular and flat metals using drill presses and hand drills
  • Grinding/Prepping
    • Remove weld spatter and marks from welded, metal frames, prior to painting
  • Paint
    • Paint metals utilizing a paint booth and spray gun

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to operate various machines; metal fabrication experience is preferred
  • Proficient in math, able to use measuring devices, and comprehend engineered drawings and instructions
  • Able to effectively multi-task various projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality expectations
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication
  • Eager to learn, take initiative, and leadership skills with an ownership mindset.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude and strong time management skills
  • Ability to work extended hours with little advance notice to meet project deadlines, if needed

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with industrial sewing preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending for 8-hour periods
  • Ability to frequently lift/move up to 20 pounds
  • Manufacturing environment; may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, dust, or dirt
