Job description

Position Description:

General Laborers produce product by preparing and/or packaging raw product for cooking with a safety-minded attitude that maintains and enhances a safety culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees.

We currently have open positions within the following departments:

Trim Department:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintains quality by trimming product to specification.
  • Maintains work flow by loading meat on to tables for trimmers.
  • Maintains clean and organized work area by removing waste materials.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed.

Physical and General Requirements:

  • Able to speak English preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred.
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Able to lift up 35 to 50 pounds constantly.
  • Able to tolerate extreme temperatures.
  • Walking or standing 8+ hours per day
  • 100% of day spent on work floor in temperatures of 40˚ +/-

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:

  • Not Applicable

Processing Department:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Produces product by following product process specifications and packaging requirements (involves variety of machining processes such as tenderizing, tumbling, cutting, slicing, bagging, weighing, sealing).
  • Prepares product for next process by manually loading product on racks; moving racks to cook area.
  • Maintains operational work flow by following procedures; advising supervisor of irregularities.
  • Maintains quality standards by verifying weights and inspecting product throughout process.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed.
  • Follow established plant wide Good Manufacturing Procedures.
  • Inspect equipment & utensils for sanitary conditions. Inspect product (if direct product handler) for signs of foreign material contamination.
  • Inform production supervisor or QA if any food safety issue is observed that could lead to contamination of product.

Physical and General Requirements:

  • Able to speak, read and write English; preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Able to lift 35 - 50 pounds consistently.
  • Push racks of products weighing up to 800 lbs as needed.
  • Routine shoveling, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • 100% of day spent on work floor in temperatures of 40˚ +/-.

  • Maintains operational work flow by following procedures; advising supervisor of irregularities.
  • Maintains quality standards by verifying weights, observing metal detection read-outs; inspecting product throughout process.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed.
  • Follow established plant wide Good Manufacturing Procedures.
  • Inspect equipment & utensils for sanitary conditions. Inspect product (if direct product handler) for signs of foreign material contamination.

This is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period. Benefits include: medical, vision and dental as well as 1 week of paid time off after 1 year of employment.
