Job description

RYCO Excavating, Inc. is seeking resumes for a Pipe Laborer to join our excavation team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in utility construction and earthwork, with knowledge of pipe laying and grading. This role requires a detail-oriented and hardworking individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the success of our projects. Note: this is a projected opening; hiring process will begin when position becomes open. Position will be open in Spring 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, and moving materials.
  • Assist in utility construction projects, including pipe laying and grading.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure the safety of the worksite.
  • Conduct pre-operation checks and regular maintenance on equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines and goals are met.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and other construction documents.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a laborer in utility construction and/or earthwork.
  • Knowledge of pipe laying and grading techniques.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in heavy equipment operation a plus.
  • Experience with GPS and other advanced excavation technologies a plus.
  • OSHA 10-hour training a plus.
