Job description

**This is a Union sponsored position, with pay rate subject to Union guidelines. Candidates must be members of the Operating Engineers Local No. 3 and meet Union specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Oversee all aspects of Grading operations
-Assure that all safety and quality measures are taken
-Coordinate with others including subcontractors, trucking and plant and perform other duties as assigned
-Travel is required and working in extreme weather conditions should be expected.
Minimum Qualifications:
-3+ years of proven Grading experience.
-Supervisory and Strong communication skills (verbal and written) as well as basic computer skills
-Knowledge of all grading and paving equipment and operations
-Valid driver's license
-Strong commitment to quality, safety and customer satisfaction
-Able to read and understand plans
-Know how to set up and run GPS systems
-Finish blading with GPS controls
-Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience: 5+ yrs of heavy civil construction experience with at least 5 years in overseeing grading construction.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
-Strong knowledge base of construction concepts, field application, and staging of work.
-Strong blueprint ready and analysis skills.
-Strong communication skills including troubleshooting, conflict resolution and problem solving.
-Strong resource planning, construction phasing and trade work coordination of assigned projects.
-Strong leadership skills
-Intermediate computer skills
-Ability to support world class safety culture.
