Job Title: Traffic Control Laborer
Status: Permanent/Seasonal role
Reports To: Traffic Control Supervisor

Based in Portland, Oregon, Advanced Government Services has delivered traffic control and road safety services since 2003. We provide traffic control, ITS Solutions, and signage and roadway safety products and services across the Pacific Northwest Region.

About the Position
Traffic Control Laborers are responsible for assisting with the setup and maintenance of safe work zones, including lane closures, signage, barricades, cones, and delineators. This role supports traffic control operations by helping regulate traffic movement, protecting road crews and the public, and maintaining a secure work zone environment.
Traffic Control Laborers work closely with supervisors and team members to coordinate site setup and teardown through constant radio or visual communication. They are also responsible for monitoring safety conditions, warning workers of errant vehicles or hazards, and reporting motorists who fail to follow traffic control devices.
This position is permanent or seasonal. Hours are not guaranteed. Peak hours occur during the summer construction season, and during this time employees must be available based on project needs. This position is outdoors and subject to working in hot, cold, windy, rainy, and dark conditions, and may be close to home or far from home depending on project location. We have a combination of private pay and prevailing work consistent with State and Federal wage and labor laws.
Must be insurable with a clean driving record and able to pass pre employment drug screening and background checks. This company conducts random, cause, and post accident testing.

Valid Driver's License
Physical and Skill Requirements
Ability to stand and work for long periods of time, typically 8 to 12 hours per shift, in all weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, and rain. Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Excellent eyesight and hearing with quick reflexes to respond to emergency situations. Must remain highly alert at all times, as distractions such as cell phone use are strictly prohibited while on duty. Basic understanding of general power tools is required.
