Primary Job Function

In order to help Texas Bay Credit Union (TBCU) stand out as a leading financial institution the Branch Representative is responsible for providing member service support to the Tellers and Financial Services Representatives as needed while providing an exceptional experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and courteous service to members by following established TBCU member service expectations.
  • Perform all account maintenance for members including but not limited to, issuance of debit cards, stop payments, wire transfers, opening and closing accounts according to credit union policies and procedures, etc.
  • Process consumer loans from start to finish. This includes but is not limited to, corresponding with loan applicants, preparing necessary documents for approval, reviewing loans for proper insurance on collateral, processing approved loan documents, recommending protection products, disbursing loans, and performing appropriate analysis to determine credit worthiness, etc.
  • Provide credit counseling to members and suggest actions to improve their credit score.
  • Resolve member issues or complaints by demonstrating complete knowledge of credit union processes and procedures while being empowered to make decisions that are in the best interest of the member and/or the credit union. Refer escalated concerns to Assistant Branch Manager or Branch Manager.
  • Promptly prepare, process, and close home equity loans according to credit union policy.
  • Daily management of CVIEW tickets including but not limited to researching and resolving errors.
  • Follow all TBCU policies and procedures including but not limited to proper identification of members, proper validation checking requirements and OFAC obligations.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all TBCU products, policies, procedures, promotions and services.
  • Educate members on CU products and services by identifying their personal and financial goals.
  • Perform a full range of duties required to process transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, cashing checks, loan payments, transfers, open-end loan draws, credit card cash advances, and credit card payments.
  • Balance cash drawer with system totals daily.
  • Maintain security of cash drawer and teller number at all times.
  • Participates in the Performance Reward Program.
  • Maintain and project the Credit Union's professional reputation.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Play an active part in helping credit union teams function smoothly and efficiently.
  • Stay alert to potential problems and propose changes to policies and programs.
  • Back-up other coworkers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
  • As an employee of an “Essential Business” (as defined by Texas’s Executive Order GA 14), employees are expected to continue to report to work as scheduled during state issued emergency declarations.
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Required Knowledge

  • A high school education or GED
  • One year to three years of similar or related experience
  • Minimum one-year cash handling and customer service experience required
  • Proficient in MS Office and computer skills
  • Completion of required training courses

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, kneel, talk, hear, and climb stairs. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 10-15 pounds. This position requires viewing of computer monitor for extended lengths of time and travel to and from all credit union offices.
