Union membership provides workers with negotiated benefits such as higher wages, job security, healthcare, and retirement plans. Workers must often complete an apprenticeship or training program to join a union. Union concrete jobs follow strict safety and labor standards to ensure fair working conditions.

You’ll work primarily outdoors on construction sites, facing varying weather and physically demanding conditions, while adhering to strict safety standards. The job usually involves close coordination with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and laborers, to ensure projects stay on schedule. Teamwork and communication are essential, as you’ll frequently collaborate on large infrastructure or commercial construction projects.
