Job description

The Core Business Systems Analyst will assume, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Process and requirements analysis: Work with business units, IT programmers and project manager to gather requirements, map processes, identify pain points and document user stories. Use elicitation techniques to capture stakeholder needs and ensure solutions align with enduser requirements.
  • Configuration and implementation: Configure the Symitar core system and related applications, including setting system parameters, creating reports and forms, and establishing system security and thirdparty interfaces. Provide tier3 technical support to troubleshoot issues and address problem tickets.
  • Process improvement: Collaborate with the Business teams to identify improvement opportunities and design innovative solutions to streamline processes and enhance productivity. Maintain awareness of industry standards and release notes to leverage new functionality and mitigate workflow impediments.
  • Documentation & project support: Develop and maintain project documentation, including requirements specifications, usecase diagrams, flow charts and technical guides. Participate in RFPs for new products or services and support project managers in initiatives involving the core banking solutions.
  • Support and liaising: Act as a technical liaison between business teams, programmers and vendors; provide guidance on features and usage of the Symitar core and other banking systems. Participate in afterhours to resolve critical processing issues and assist with business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

The successful candidate will possess the following education, knowledge and skillsets:

  • A bachelor's degree Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of banking/financial operational experience and similar experience in technical analysis, implementation of new technical solutions and customer support.
  • Experience with credit union core software is essential
  • Symitar core system expertise strongly preferred
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification desired
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to bridge business and technical teams
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and interact professionally with staff and vendors.
