Job description

Overview/ Job Responsibilities

Entarian is seeking a Deputy Solution Architect to support the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) Expeditionary Enterprise Systems and Services (E2S2) Division. NIWC Atlantic provides design, acquisition, and sustainment services for Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) Information Technology (IT) systems.

A Deputy Solution Architect will assist in bridging requirements with enterprise IT infrastructure by leveraging SAFe expertise and deep knowledge of the Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN) to design a secure, high-cadence "System-of-Systems" architecture.

In this role, the Network Architect will be responsible for the following:

  • Solution Intent & Integration
    • Manage Solution Intent: Document, maintain, and validate the technical baseline.
    • Track Traceability: Connect mission capabilities and technical enablers directly to MCEN compliance rules.
    • Oversee Integration: Guide solution architectures to ensure seamless interoperability across all portfolios.
    Technical Enablement & Planning
    • Guide Enablers: Identify and design the infrastructure, security, and platforms needed for future capabilities.
    • Collaborate Globally: Align technical solutions with strategic goals alongside PMs, RTEs, and Enterprise Architects.
    • Build Roadmaps: Assist in drafting Program Increment (PI) and multi-PI technical roadmaps.
    • Refine Backlogs: Ensure backlog items meet strict quality definitions before PI Planning ceremonies.
    Architecture Support
    • Coordinate Daily: Provide day-to-day data preparation and administrative support to the Lead Solution Architect.
    • Translate Intent: Turn high-level architectural concepts into actionable backlog structures.
    • Map Dependencies: Support capability decomposition and maintain clear technical runway visibility.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Clearance Requirements: TS/SCI
  • Educational Requirements: Master’s or ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems). (Note: All Master's shall come from an institution that has been regionally accredited by one of the six associations stated in the contract.)
    • Ten (10) years with Masters or 14 years with Bachelor’s degree of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area. Individual shall have experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.
    • Certification Requirements:
      • 10+ years of progressive experience in IT systems architecture, engineering, and integration, with significant time spent directly supporting USMC, Naval, or DoW enterprise environments.
      • Cybersecurity Workforce (CWF) IAT Level III or higher compliance; Certified SAFe® Architect (ARCH) or equivalent highly desired. Compliance with DoW 8140/8570 IASAE Level II or III (e.g., CISSP, CASP+, CISM) is preferred.
  • Location Requirements:
    • On-Site in Stafford, VA Government Spaces
    • Travel up to 15% outside local area
Desired Qualifications
  • Highly desired:
    • SAFe® Solution Train Engineer (STE) or SAFe® Practice Consultant (SPC)
    • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) — Meets DoD 8140/8570 IAM Level III requirements
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
    • CCNP Enterprise / CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure (or equivalent expert-level transport networking certification)
  • Nice-to-Have:
    • Formal DoDAF Framework training or TOGAF certification
    • INCOSE CSEP (Certified Systems Engineering Professional)
    • CCZT (Certificate of Competence in Zero Trust) or vendor-specific Zero Trust training
    • DevSecOps Foundation or Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP)
    • CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or foundational Cloud Data Architect training
