CDL A Drivers Wanted – Dedicated Routes!

Universal is one of the largest truckload transporters in North America. We are a full-service transportation provider with an extensive fleet of dry van, flat-bed and specialized equipment, and with a comprehensive geographic footprint.

We're seeking reliable CDL A Drivers to run local, dedicated lanes to the Fort Wayne GM plant and back. This is a home-daily position with no touch freight, consistent schedules, and strong union benefits.

We accept recent CDL A Graduates!(Must have a CDL Class A and a school certificate showing at least 120 hours completed.) We are a tier 1 supplier for General Motors – Ft. Wayne located directly across the street from the plant on the SW side of town.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport freight to and from customer locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.
  • Follow all DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Secure and handle freight properly (may include loading/unloading depending on the employer).
  • Maintain accurate electronic or paper logs, delivery records, and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
  • Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
  • Adhere to schedules while practicing safe driving habits at all times.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Class A CDL
  • 6 months of verifiable tractor trailer experience in the last year preferred OR certificate of completion from a CDL truck driving school (TRAINERS AVAILABLE)
  • Clean driving record with proven safe-driving history
  • No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
  • No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years
  • Strong time management & communication skills
