The purpose of uniforms is to promote professionalism, ensure easy identification, and maintain safety or hygiene standards in the workplace. Uniforms may also help foster team unity and a sense of belonging among staff members.

Many occupations in many different fields and industries require you to wear a uniform, including those in medicine, law enforcement, emergency response services, the military, food service and cooking, and delivery. Your duties and responsibilities differ by position. For example, a nurse’s required uniform is a set of scrubs. During your shift, you may treat patients, organize a department, or assist other clinicians.
