Position Summary

The Channel Sales Manager (Grocery Channel) reports directly to the channel lead (Director or VP) and is responsible for driving case sales volume while maintaining and delivering profitability targets for assigned customers. The manager handles day‑to‑day account duties, identifies issues, solves problems with internal stakeholders and leadership, and supports the overall growth strategy.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Budget case and profitability (contribution margin) attainment in assigned customer base (region)
  • Forecast attainment & forecast accuracy
  • Developing and maintaining customer relationships while achieving company strategic initiatives and growth targets
  • Sales attainment to direct manager and other functions (e.g., supply chain, commercialization) and to other levels of leadership
  • Use data and insights to execute category management with assigned accounts
  • Oversight of customer‑specific lifecycle management (new item launches and discontinuation/seasonal selling)
  • Manage customer pricing actions (increases & decreases, commodity‑based adjustments, bid/RFP activity)
  • Deduction and promotion/incentive management
  • Other customer‑level supply chain initiatives (finished good inventory management, replenishment needs/PO placement and PO management with order services team)
  • Work with functional teams and sales teammates to build a culture of collaboration, share best practices, improve through learning, and drive forward personal competencies
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated sales experience in Private Label, preferably in CPG industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience
  • Ability to interact, engage and communicate with internal and external customers
  • Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation/influencing skills
  • Proven business management and broker management experience
  • Minimum 30% travel required
  • Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience interacting with UNFI Grocery, Publix, Lidl
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Work in a typical office setting, drive a motor vehicle, and occasionally work in the field
  • Frequent: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure; keyboard and mouse use; side‑to‑side turning of neck
  • Vision: ability to see in normal visual range with or without correction
  • Hearing: ability to hear in normal audio range with or without correction
