UFG is currently seeking a Surety Underwriter Trainee to join our growing Surety Department. You will be provided on the job training that will teach you how to perform analysis of financial statements, review contractor applications, analyze credit reports and learn to use various sources to conduct research. The trainee program will guide you on how to make recommendations on existing and new business. It will teach you how to determine acceptability of submissions and work toward a profitable and controlled level of growth. This will be done by servicing the business as well as meeting or exceeding the department’s annual goals and objectives. Through travel with experienced underwriters, you will learn how to conduct successful agency visits, mutually beneficial contractor visits and market UFG Surety products to new and existing agency partners.

The base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 annually, which represents the typical range for new hires in this role. Individual pay within this range will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, internal equity, geography and market data.
