Job description

We're looking for an Underwriting Operations Analyst
As an Underwriting Operations Analyst, your main objective is to support all underwriting operational processes for our US MGA Miami that focusses on Latin American business. This position reports into to the Operations Manager, Hamilton Americas, and is preferably based in our Miami office with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office, 2 remote.
Hamilton Global Specialty is our multi-platform, specialty insurer operating primarily through a Lloyd's Syndicate and Dublin operating company with a managing general agency in the US.
What you will help us do
  • Liaise with our underwriting and operations teams to process business into our underwriting system in accordance with agreed guidelines, including but not limited to entering policy and treaty details for new, renewals, premium and nonbearing premium endorsement transactions and any corrections needed to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the data
  • In respect to reinsurance treaty business, reviewing and processing into our underwriting system all underwriting activity reported by our customers including all premium, commission, tax and claim amounts assumed by our carriers.
  • Set-up and maintain electronic policy files that contain all relevant documentation pertaining payments and accounts management such as payment of premium, claims and other deductions.
  • Assist in the administration of outwards reinsurance treaties, such as entering all relevant information on risks being ceded into our underwriting system, the distribution of bordereaux, assist carriers in the arrangement of payment of ceded premium.
  • Assist our carriers for any query raised in respect to business bookings, bordereaux, claims and related matters when required.
  • Monitor all relevant reports to ensure that our underwriting activity data is properly recorded into the underwriting systems of our carriers and liaise with them and finance team to ensure alignment
  • Produce ad hoc reports and presentations as requested
  • Ensure that all contact and identifying information pertaining our customers and brokers are entered and remain updated into our underwriting system

What you require for the role
  • Proven administrative support experience working within the insurance industry and/or within a credit control functions is preferred
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Strong math aptitude and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel and Word), predominantly Excel
  • Ability to adapt to new software
  • Excellent attention to details and problem-solving skills
  • Good customer service orientation and superior work ethic
  • Proven ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritize efficiently
  • Collaborative spirit
