Key Responsibilities
• Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements within delegated underwriting authority
• Analyze and evaluate complex commercial risks using sound underwriting principles and risk selection methodologies
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and coverage to achieve sustainable profitable growth
• Manage and grow a portfolio of broker relationships while maintaining strong retention levels
• Deliver exceptional service through timely, professional communication with broker partners
• Identify opportunities for business development and cross-selling within existing broker relationships
• Exercise underwriting authority on complex and non-standard risks
• Contribute to underwriting strategy, profitability initiatives, and process improvements
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced underwriters when appropriate
• Stay current on market trends, underwriting developments, and emerging risks

Required Qualifications
• Minimum 7 years of Commercial Underwriting experience
• Proven ability to independently underwrite complex commercial risks
• Experience underwriting at least five of the following lines of business:
o Realty
o Student Housing
o Manufacturing & Wholesaling
o Contractors
o Motor Truck Cargo (MTC)
o Construction
o Hospitality
o Professional Liability (D&O, E&O, Medical Malpractice)
o Cyber
o Vacant Property
o Commercial General Liability, including U.S. exposures
• Strong broker relationship management and business development skills
• Advanced analytical, negotiation, and decision-making abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with Lloyd's and specialty insurance markets
• CIP or CRM designation completed or in progress
• Previous experience in a wholesale brokerage environment
• Experience mentoring or coaching underwriting colleagues
