What You'll Do
The Home Equity Underwriter reviews and analyzes home equity loan applications to determine whether borrowers meet financial and creditworthiness criteria. The Underwriter assesses the risk associated with approving a loan, evaluates the borrower's income, credit history, employment history, debt-to-income ratio, available equity, and other important factors. As part of the Home Equity Underwriting team, they strive to provide exceptional service to members and partners.
This opportunity is open to flexible work options including a remote set up.
Core Contributions
  • Review loan applications, credit reports, and supporting documentation to analyze risk and request additional information and/or documentation as necessary.
  • Review income and loan documents or verify self-employed tax returns.
  • Monitor and manage pipeline to meet Service Level Agreements.
  • Review and follow up on incomplete files for initial decision.
  • Work in collaboration with other departments and team members.
  • Document and effectively communicate reasons for the rendered decision of loan applications to internal teams and members.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and partner specific policies and guidelines.
  • Validate loan data utilizing internal and external resources to include member documentation and vendor reporting. Identify and resolve any red flags.
  • Communicate with closers and processors to resolve issues or as needed.
  • Additional job-related projects and duties as assigned by management.

Assets You Will Bring
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of underwriting or processing experience required.

The estimated salary for this role is $26.36 - $30.97 per hour. (FourLeaf Federal Credit Union offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage; life and disability insurance; voluntary benefit programs; a 401(k) plan with employer match; reimbursement and wellness programs; and an annual performance-based bonus.)
