Underground Storage Tank Installers are professionals who specialize in installing tanks below ground that are used to store liquids such as petroleum products, chemicals, or other hazardous substances. They are responsible for ensuring the tanks are installed safely and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Their work includes site preparation, tank placement, connection of piping and dispensing systems, and testing for leaks. Installers must also maintain proper documentation and may be involved in the removal or upgrade of existing tanks. Specialized training and certification are often required to work in this field due to the potential environmental and safety risks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an underground storage tank installer?

To thrive as an Underground Storage Tank Installer, you need knowledge of construction methods, environmental regulations, and safety protocols, often supported by a high school diploma and specialized certification such as OSHA HAZWOPER or state licensing.
