Job description

ByVerTek is now seeking a dependable and motivated Construction Laborer based in Mesa, Arizona to support underground telecommunications and broadband construction projects. In this hands-on role, you will assist construction crews with site preparation, trenching, conduit and fiber installation, and general labor activities that keep projects moving safely and efficiently. The Construction Laborer plays a vital role in maintaining job site organization, supporting skilled trades, and adhering to safety protocols while working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with loading, unloading, and moving construction materials and equipment on site.
  • Prepare and clean construction sites by removing debris, hazardous materials, and obstacles.
  • Support skilled tradespeople by providing necessary tools, materials, and assistance during various phases of construction.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently as directed by supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and assembling temporary structures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and report any issues or hazards.
  • Install conduit, handholes, and fiber optic cables.
  • Operate hand and power tools.
  • Assist equipment operators and management as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
