Job description

Job Title: UNC Chapel Hill Football Center Server

Department: Rocky Top Catering – at UNC Chapel Hill Football Center
Status: Part-Time with possibility of full-time hours 

Position Summary

The Football Center Server supports daily meal operations for the UNC Chapel Hill Football program by providing exceptional service to student-athletes, coaches, and staff. This role ensures that all food and beverage areas within the Football Center are properly prepared, stocked, and maintained to uphold the high standards of Rocky Top Catering and UNC Athletics. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to creating a positive, efficient dining experience that supports athlete performance and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, professional service during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events within the Football Center and Rocky Top Catering.
  • Set up, replenish, and maintain buffet lines, hydration stations, fueling tables, and grab-and-go options.
  • Assist with meal delivery or station support as directed by the Catering Manager or Football Center Lead.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, temperature, and cleanliness in accordance with Rocky Top Catering and UNC Athletics standards.
  • Maintain clean, organized dining and service areas, including tables, beverage stations, and equipment.
  • Restock supplies, condiments, utensils, and service items throughout the shift.
  • Follow all sanitation, safety, and hygiene procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with culinary staff and teammates to ensure smooth meal service operations.
  • Support setup and breakdown of daily meals, special events, and football team functions.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when interacting with student-athletes, coaching staff, and university personnel.

Availability Requirements

  • Must be available for all home UNC football games.
  • Must be available to work additional events as needed.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in catering, hospitality, or food service preferred; willing to train the right candidate.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions with accuracy.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25–40 lbs as needed.
  • Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and schedules aligned with the UNC Football program.

Work Environment

This position is based within the UNC Chapel Hill Football Center, a high-performance athletic facility. Scheduling may vary based on practice schedules, team activities, games, and in-season/off-season requirements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

-Able to work flexible schedules

-Able to work in a standing position for long periods

-Be able to reach and bend frequently lift up to 30lbs.

-Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation
