Position: Family Medicine with Surgical Obstetrics, Faculty Physician/Clinician Educator
Department: UNC Department of Family Medicine
Location: Chatham Hospital, Siler City, NC
Type: Full-time Permanent

Responsibilities
  • Clinical: Cover labor & delivery including surgical coverage. Additional duties may include hospitalist work, continuity clinic, or specialty clinics, depending on qualifications.
  • Teaching & Education: Opportunity to work with a diverse faculty and train future healthcare providers for underserved populations
  • Research: Encouraged to develop scholarly interest and produce scholarly work (e.g., national presentations, manuscript submissions every 1-2 years).
  • Supervision: Likely to supervise Advanced Practice Providers

  • Institutional Citizenship: Improve access, cost, quality, and health outcomes. Engage in community outreach, attend professional events to assist with program and relationship development, and maintain timely documentation and satisfaction metrics.

Requirements
  • MD or DO required
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine
  • Completed ACGME-approved 3-year family medicine residency with strong perinatal healthcare training
  • Fellowship training in operative obstetrics is mandatory
  • Desirable: Additional fellowship training and/or an advanced degree (e.g. MPH)
