Our organization is actively looking for a Board Eligible or Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to join our esteemed fellowship program within the Department of Emergency Medicine. We are excited to introduce a one-year Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship, which maintains its accreditation through the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship Accreditation Council (EUFAC).

The ultrasound curriculum is designed to equip fellows with expertise in clinical ultrasound practice, research, education, and management, providing dedicated time for hands-on clinical ultrasound experience. In addition to mastering core ultrasound modalities, fellows will have the chance to conduct transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) with specialized training in various settings, including the operating room (OR), emergency department (ED), and through simulation exercises.

A significant emphasis on regional anesthesia will enhance fellows' skills in ultrasound-guided nerve blocks. Participants will engage in extensive national and international research registries and take part in active clinical trials. Preparation for the ABEM focused practice designation in advanced ultrasound is also included.

Fellows will gain practical ultrasound experience across diverse environments, including adult and pediatric emergency departments, medical intensive care units, urgent care facilities, and the OR, addressing critical clinical questions for patient care. Mentorship from experienced medical educators will support your transition from fellow to faculty member.

Access to a medical education incubator lab will allow fellows to create training models for teaching ultrasound practices. The integration of ultrasound in medical education is woven throughout the medical school and residency programs. Administrative experience is also part of the curriculum, where fellows will learn the essentials of quality improvement in ultrasound, as well as the processes involved in image archiving, billing, and coding through active participation in ultrasound quality assurance for the ED. Opportunities for global health involvement are available for fellows as well.

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $203,000 to $213,000. This figure does not include variable compensation or additional productivity incentives and is subject to the department's compensation plan.
