A Snapshot of Your Day
As the ASNT Level III NDT/NDE Manager, the role serves as the technical authority and program owner for nondestructive examination at a high-integrity investment casting facility specializing in nickel-based superalloy blade and vane castings. This position involves providing technical leadership and strategic oversight of the site NDT program, which includes Visual Testing (VT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Radiographic Testing (RT), encompassing Computer Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), and Computed Tomography (CT). The focus is on inspecting safety-critical hardware to enhance inspection robustness, reduce defect escapes, and minimize non-conformance costs. The role is centered around three core areas: NDI Technical Governance, which establishes inspection standards; Personnel Competency & Oversight, ensuring all NDI staff are qualified; and Enterprise Harmonization & Improvement, aligning practices across Siemens Energy. Our ideal candidate must be an ASNT certified Level III NDI expert in RT, PT, VI, and UT, with extensive experience in high-consequence manufacturing and a strong understanding of ISO 9001 and ASNT/NAS 410 standards. Additionally, our ideal candidate must possess the ability to lead and mentor a team of inspection professionals.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for NDI methods, developing and governing procedures in line with ISO 9001.
  • Provide technical dispositions for non-conforming materials to ensure product integrity.
  • Lead the qualification and validation of NDI equipment, particularly digital radiography systems.
  • Oversee the certification and competency management of NDI personnel, ensuring compliance with ASNT and ANSI/NAS standards.
  • Mentor and train NDI inspectors to ensure consistent application of inspection techniques.
  • Collaborate with NDE/NDT experts to harmonize practices and support new product introductions with robust NDI strategies.
What You Bring
  • 8+ years of experience as a Level III NDI/NDE professional in manufacturing, preferably in aerospace or power generation.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • ASNT NDT Level III Certification in RT, PT, VT, and UT is required.
  • Proven experience with investment casting processes and managing personnel certification programs compliant with ASNT SNT-TC-1A and/or NAS 410.
  • Proficiency in NDT methods, including Digital Radiography (DR), and a strong background in quality management systems.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. This position may require an export license from the Department of Commerce and/or the Department of State. Candidates must be able to work with export-controlled technology in accordance with US export control law.
