Job description

We are seeking an accomplished, highly connected, and results-driven Director of Leisure Sales to join the commercial leadership team of a prestigious Five-Star luxury Collection of Hotels.


The ideal candidate will be a passionate luxury hospitality professional with a proven track record of developing and growing leisure business within the luxury travel market. This individual will be responsible for driving revenue through strategic relationships with luxury travel advisors, consortia, tour operators, wholesalers, and key leisure accounts, while positioning the hotel as a preferred destination for discerning domestic and international travelers.


This is an exceptional opportunity for a polished sales leader who understands the expectations of the ultra-luxury guest and possesses the relationships, market knowledge, and strategic mindset necessary to grow the hotel's leisure segment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive leisure sales strategy to drive revenue, market share, and profitable growth.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key luxury travel advisors, consortia, tour operators, wholesalers, destination management companies, and other leisure partners.
  • Actively solicit new business opportunities while maximizing revenue from existing accounts and strategic partnerships.
  • Represent the hotel at luxury travel industry events, trade shows, roadshows, sales missions, and client networking functions.
  • Develop targeted sales plans for key domestic and international leisure markets.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, presentations, client entertainment, and relationship-building activities with high-value leisure accounts.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Management and Reservations teams to identify opportunities and optimize leisure segment performance.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales & Marketing and commercial leadership team to establish annual sales goals, budgets, and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, emerging travel patterns, and changes within the luxury leisure sector.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed sales reports, forecasts, account plans, and revenue analyses.
  • Negotiate preferred agreements, partnerships, and commercial opportunities while ensuring alignment with the hotel's financial objectives.
  • Partner closely with the Marketing and Public Relations teams to promote the hotel's luxury experiences and leisure offerings.
  • Maintain a strong presence within the Boston luxury travel and hospitality community.
  • Deliver an exceptional level of professionalism and service consistent with the standards and expectations of a Five-Star luxury hotel.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive luxury hotel sales experience, with significant experience within leisure, luxury travel, or international markets.
  • Previous experience in a Director of Leisure Sales, Senior Sales Manager, or similar leadership role within a luxury or Five-Star hotel environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing relationships with luxury travel advisors, consortia, tour operators, and high-end leisure accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of the domestic and international luxury leisure travel market.
  • An established network of luxury travel industry contacts is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with luxury hotel brands and/or Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond standards preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic sales plans and consistently achieve or exceed revenue goals.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and understanding of luxury hospitality revenue strategies.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly polished, professional, and comfortable representing a prestigious luxury brand.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly for sales missions, trade shows, and client engagement.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools.
