Ultra Clean Technology (UCT) is seeking a Janitorial & Facilities Maintenance Technician to support day‑to‑day cleanliness, safety, and basic maintenance of our Hayward manufacturing site. This role is part of a four‑person facilities support team responsible for maintaining an industrial/commercial environment, including offices, production support areas, and exterior common spaces.

This position focuses on commercial janitorial services with facilities and maintenance support, not hotel or residential housekeeping. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety‑minded, and comfortable working in an active manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Cleaning & Sanitation

  • Maintain cleanliness of office areas, restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, locker rooms, and common areas in a commercial/industrial environment
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing high‑touch surfaces, and interior glass cleaning
  • Clean and restock restrooms, kitchens, and break areas with appropriate supplies
  • Support cleanliness in light production‑adjacent areas (non‑cleanroom)

Waste Management & Recycling

  • Collect, empty, and transport trash, recycling, cardboard, and compost throughout the facility
  • Properly sort waste streams and identify/report contamination issues
  • Operate and support waste equipment such as compactors and dumpsters, following safety procedures

Facilities & Maintenance Support

  • Perform basic building upkeep such as replacing light bulbs, clearing floor drains, minor repairs, and reporting facility issues
  • Assist Facilities or EH&S teams by identifying hazards, leaks, spills, or maintenance needs
  • Support seasonal or periodic tasks (e.g., floor scrubbing, minor exterior cleanup)
  • Perform Daily PM schedules and any logistical purchases

Equipment & Chemical Use

  • Safely operate commercial janitorial equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, wet vacs, and carts
  • Use approved cleaning chemicals in accordance with SDS guidelines and Cal/OSHA requirements
  • Complete equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety issues

Safety, Compliance & Teamwork

  • Follow all site safety rules, EH&S policies, and sustainability practices
  • Wear required PPE when applicable
  • Coordinate work with Facilities, Security, and Operations teams
  • Maintain consistent attendance and complete assigned tasks within scheduled timeframes

Additional Duties:

    • Execute assigned tasks efficiently within the allotted time frame.
    • Report neglected cleaning tasks or maintenance issues to supervisors promptly.
    • Ensure all work areas are left clean, organized, and in satisfactory condition.

Qualifications

  • Prior commercial or industrial janitorial experience preferred
  • Familiarity with facility cleaning equipment and industrial environments is a plus
  • General Facilities maint. Knowledge
  • Ability to perform physical work including standing, walking, bending, pushing carts, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Ability to communicate maintenance or safety issues clearly to supervisors
  • Flexibility to adjust tasks based on operational needs

Compensation & Benefits

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $17.36 – $25.87 per hour. Base pay offered may vary based on a range of individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional elements such as variable pay and discretionary awards, as well as a comprehensive benefits offering, which may include:

  • Paid time off benefits, including PTO and parental leave
