Ui Developer Contract Jobs in Iowa (NOW HIRING)

This position provides managerial and clinical leadership to ensure staff deliver effective, high-quality clinical care and have the education, tools, and resources necessary to meet performance objectives. In addition to supporting staff and programs, this position will also assume direct patient care responsibilities as needed.

This role collaborates closely with the Department of Radiology and the Department Pathology to ensure consistent adherence to clinical best practices throughout the organization. The position collaborates closely with leadership and care providers to optimize safe and efficient patient care delivery, driving improvements across clinical services.

Duties to include:

• In partnership with UI Healthcare HR, oversee staff hiring, development, and performance management.  Lead search committees for open positions, manage new hires and make decisions.
• Builds trust with staff by demonstrating through evidence that staff issues are resolved promptly and unbiasedly; provides a rationale for decisions; counsels employees as warranted; documents employee counseling and disciplinary actions.
• Encourages staff input into appropriate clinic plans and decisions.
• Recognizes with relevant recognition of effort, performance, achievement, and tenure.
• Provide functional and administrative supervision to subordinate administrative personnel.
• Assure that staff are compliant with UI policies and procedures.
• Monitor and analyze scheduling data to ensure provider access is optimized
• Prepare and monitor annual budgets with administrative personnel in the clinics, medical directors, and clinical departments. Assimilate, analyze, interpret data, and prepare unique and periodic operational and fiscal reports. 
• Develop business plans for new patient care initiatives, faculty compensation/reimbursement programs, contracts, and proposals.
• Oversee activities for determining and submitting hospital professional fees, including supplies, imaging, pharmacy, pathology, and collection from third-party carriers. Develop, implement, and maintain appropriate systems to submit all hospital and professional fees promptly, and ensure all activity is billed accurately.
• Review the revenue cycle, focusing on write-offs and denials. Implement appropriate changes on the front end.
• Review clinic visits and make changes to meet budget targets.
• Prepare (and as called upon) present special and periodic operational and fiscal reports.
• Assist with Capital projects, including new clinic builds, renovations, and equipment purchases. Ensure project expenses align with the budget.
• Helps facilitate credentialing efforts as necessary for off-site locations.
• Oversee roll-out of new clinical services, including operational development, marketing, and referring provider relations.
• Oversee termination of clinical services, including operational issues and patient and referring provider communication.
• Collaborate with many departments at UI Healthcare, including but not limited to leadership teams in each department, PFS, HCIS Epic teams, as well as many others.
• Work closely with the department leaders to review potential issues and proposed solutions. 
• Review patient satisfaction results and implement appropriate changes/improvements. Educate technologists, nurses, and physicians as necessary.
• Respond to patient complaints in conjunction with the office of patient relations
• Review and respond to patient safety issues as necessary.
• Identify trends and determine QA priorities with the lead nurse and Medical Director.
• Oversee clinic operating practices such as recordkeeping systems, cash collection, policies, and procedures.
• Review and analyze data and present data to validate cost-effectiveness and operating efficiencies of clinic operations.
• Coordinate across departmental units or clinics to improve operations and patient/ customer satisfaction, assure regulatory compliance, and achieve quality goals.
• Monitors patient volume and ongoing patient access, acuity, and complexity changes.
• Develops flexible staffing and reallocates priorities to ensure optimal patient care.
• Participate in the development of the offsite strategic plan.
• Develop action plans to meet those goals.
• Collaborate with DEOs, Strategic Planning, and other stakeholders to develop long-term strategies for assigned offsite clinics.

• Develop, implement, and monitor programs, projects, and computerized systems with hospital-wide impact.

• Contact and liaison with UI Health Care patient care support areas, appropriate individuals in the College of Medicine, Patient Fiscal Services, Department Administrators and DEO, Joint Office of Compliance, Strategic Planning and Physician Relations, and Marketing and Communications of the Clinical Enterprise.
• Serve as a liaison between clinic & hospital staff at various levels.
• Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and across multiple UI Health Care support departments.
• Support the work and strategic goals of UI Community Clinics and Outreach clinics.
• Collaborate with Outreach and UI Community Clinic providers to maximize clinic efficiencies.
• Collaborate with external entities to maintain referring provider and Outreach clinical practice relations.
• Work with the departmental education team to optimize medical student and residency rotations and patient care.
• Collaborate with the UI PA program, Kirkwood MA program, and other clinical programs to provide educational experiences in the clinic.
• May provide support and project oversight to administrative interns.
• Invests in own continuous learning and skill enhancement.
• Actively participates in benchmarking with similar practice sites, seeking and infusing best practices. 

• Collaborate with research staff to ensure clinical and research needs are met and compliant.

Percent of Time: 100% (40 hours per week)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Variable hours between 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, no weekends, no holidays, no on call time

• Availability to provide support to outreach clinics within a 2-hour radius required. Paid drive time.

Salary $68,924- $149,204 at 100% (based on years of experience

Education 

• A Master's degree in Radiologic Science, Health Care, MSN, Biology or higher education or similar area or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required in Pathology or Radiology.

Required Qualifications

• Typically 3-5 years leadership experience is required.
• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

Highly Desired Qualifications

• Clinical experience as a nurse, radiologic technician, or sonographer

• Experience in Pathology, specifically moderately complex and waived labs.
   

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with designing lab space in a clinical setting.

• Knowledge of the University of Iowa Health Care policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Ability to be self-directed and demonstrate excellent judgment in prioritizing multiple projects and assignments.
