Job description

Dispatch Manager – Salt Lake CityLead the Team. Run the Day. Keep D.P. Nicoli Moving.

D.P. Nicoli is looking for a Dispatch Manager to lead the day-to-day action at our Salt Lake City location.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role at the center of our operation. You’ll lead our drivers and yard team, coordinate deliveries and pickups, manage equipment and inventory, work directly with customers and sales, and make sure everything comes together when and where it should.

And because no two days in our business go exactly according to plan, you’ll also be the person everyone counts on when priorities change.

If you like leading people, solving problems, making decisions, and being where the action is, this could be your kind of job.

What You’ll Own

As Dispatch Manager, you’ll take ownership of the daily flow of the Woodinville operation—from the first truck out in the morning to the last piece of equipment returning to the yard.

You’ll have the authority and responsibility to set the plan, lead the team, adjust on the fly, and keep customers taken care of.

Lead the Operation
  • Lead, coach, and organize our drivers and yard employees, setting daily priorities and expectations.
  • Own the daily dispatch schedule, coordinating deliveries, pickups, drivers, equipment, and customer needs.
  • Keep the operation moving when schedules change, equipment issues arise, or customers need something quickly.
  • Identify potential delays and problems early—and have a Plan B ready.
  • Build a team culture focused on safety, urgency, accountability, and great customer service.
Take Care of the Customer
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customers and our sales team.
  • Take orders, provide quotes, answer questions, and coordinate changing jobsite needs.
  • Communicate proactively so customers know what to expect and when to expect it.
  • Solve problems quickly and professionally when the unexpected happens.
  • Help deliver the level of service that keeps customers coming back to D.P. Nicoli.
Keep the Equipment & Yard Ready
  • Maintain visibility and accountability for D.P. Nicoli’s rental inventory.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance, testing, repairs, damage documentation, and cycle counts.
  • Oversee truck and forklift maintenance to keep the fleet safe, reliable, and ready to work.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized yard that meets D.P. Nicoli and OSHA standards.
  • Ensure drivers and yard employees maintain required training and certifications.
  • Stay current on applicable DOT requirements and incorporate changes into daily operations.
Keep the Details Tight
  • Enter and manage orders in D.P. Nicoli’s proprietary ERP system.
  • Oversee bills of lading, return documentation, invoicing, and bill-outs.
  • Coordinate purchasing of yard supplies and replacement rental inventory.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and paperwork.
Why Build Your Career at D.P. Nicoli?Because You Won’t Just Work Here. You’ll Own Part of It.

D.P. Nicoli is a 100% employee-owned company.

Through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), eligible employees have the opportunity to build ownership in the company they help grow. When we succeed together, our employee-owners have the opportunity to share in that success.

And that’s just the beginning.

Our Benefits & Perks
  • 100% Employee Owned (ESOP) – Build ownership in the company you help grow.
  • Employer-Paid Medical, Dental & Vision – Employee coverage is paid by D.P. Nicoli.
  • Annual Bonus Program – Share in the company’s success.

  • Disability & Life Insurance
  • Company-Provided Apparel – Shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, and more.
We Play More. We Pay More. Our Employees Stay More.

For more than 40 years, D.P. Nicoli has built a reputation as a leader in underground excavation safety, shoring equipment, and training.

We’ve grown by building long-term relationships, taking exceptional care of our customers, and hiring people who want more than just another job.

We’re competitive. We’re energetic. We work hard. We have fun. We value people who think on their feet, have a strong sense of integrity, bring some personality to work, and genuinely want to win as a team.

We’re also financially strong, growing, and building for the future.

With locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, and Utah, there are opportunities to build a career—not just fill a position.

Ready to Run the Day?

If you’re the kind of person who likes having responsibility, leading a team, solving problems, and seeing the immediate impact of your decisions, we want to meet you.

Come lead the action in Salt Lake City—and become an owner of the company you’re helping build.

What You Bring

We’re looking for an experienced operations leader who can earn the trust of a team, make sound decisions, and keep a complex operation moving forward.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • 4+ years of progressive operations, dispatch, logistics, or related leadership experience, preferably within construction, equipment rental, industrial services, transportation, or a similar environment.
  • Proven success leading teams and managing complex, fast-moving operations.
  • Strong knowledge of dispatch, inventory control, fleet maintenance, and equipment workflows.
  • The ability to coach employees, navigate difficult conversations, and build accountable, high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style and the ability to work effectively across Operations, Sales, and other functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with trench shoring and slide rail is a plus.
  • CPR/First Aid, Forklift, and Competent Person certifications are preferred.
