Job description

Xylem Services USA LLC's Pittsburgh, PA, office seeks a Sr. Lead Application Engineer (Engineer-III). This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position within the United States that will be responsible for; (i) studying the BID specification and inlet/outlet parameters; (ii) preparing engineering process unit sizing related calculations and developing design basis and design criteria and standard calculation excel sheets; (iii) preparing engineering related calculations like hydraulic, mass balance, head loss, pump head etc. through excel files; (iv) preparing conceptual designs, detailed engineering designs, reports, studies, calculations, and develop drawings and visual aids; (v) preparing design PDF/ PID drawings, plans, sections, Layout details, and profiles/sections coordinating with design engineer; (vi) designing pharma, lab, healthcare, boiler feed process water treatment schemes; and (vii) designing various unit operation process like ACF, MMF, UF, RO, CEDI, MB, Softener, UV and various filters, etc. for process water applications.
Must have a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field plus seven (7) years of experience in a related position.
Experience must include four (4) years working with: (i) process engineering and/or understanding of water treatment technologies; (ii) researching and developing engineering strategies; (iii) independently designing engineered solutions for industrial water treatment projects (iv) developing cost effective designs using commercial off the shelf components; (v) proposal writing and professional written customer communications; and (vi) coordinating workflow between multiple stakeholders, gather design input, and organize project execution planning that aligns with organizational capabilities and construction best practices.
This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position within the United States. The employee can work remotely from within the United States, but must be able to work in the Pittsburgh office two (2) days per week.
Experience can be concurrent.
Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Must be able to climb and descend stairs and bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis. Must be willing to work indoors and outdoors as needed, with exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
Must be willing to travel both domestic and international to various locations to provide technical support up to 25%.
