Job description

The Senior IR Technologist is a CRT/ARRT Technologist who maintains an ARRT sponsored VIR
Certification within 1 year of reclassification. This individual must also be certified and demonstrate
competency in performing injection procedures necessary for IR for a minimum of three - five
years. ย 

This position requires the individual to be flexible in their work schedule, working Monday to Friday, covering nights and weekends and taking call when necessary. ย

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSย 

  • Minimum 3-6yearsof IR experience.ย 

  • Previous experience in healthcareenvironment required (minimum 3-5 years).ย 

  • Graduate of a formal radiology technology-training program in an AMA approved school.ย 

  • Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays. Must be willing to assist at any of the UCSF Medical Center Locationsย 

  • Must be willing to learn and train in Neuro-IR and Body-IRย ย 

  • Must be willing to circulate and fill scrubbing roles during procedures as necessaryย ย 

  • Ability to self direct and organize a varied workloadย 

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSย 

  • ARRT Licensureย 

  • CRT Licensureย 

  • BLS (CPR) Certificationย 

  • VIR Certification within 1 year of hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONย 

  • Prefer recent work experience in an acute care settingย 

  • PreferVIRCertificationor obtainedwithin 1 year of hireย 

The Senior IR Technologist advanced responsibilities can include, yet are not limited to the
following:
ย 

  • Demonstrate competency actively and participate in the lead/coordinator role.
  • Active participation in an annual performance improvement project or active
    participation in IR
  • Quality Assurance/Radiation Safety meetings.
  • Demonstrate competency and the ability to instruct one or more of the advanced
    procedures.

This position is an advanced-level IR Tech. The ability to self-direct and to organize a varied workload is required. This incumbent demonstrates competency in assisting with VIR, Neuro Endovascular procedures
and Vascular Surgery procedures from newborn thru geriatric patient population.
