Job description

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC Davis is recruiting for a highly qualified accredited non-operative faculty member to complement its comprehensive combined pediatric program. The position will serve in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series with an academic rank commensurate with their experience and qualifications.
The UC Davis Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is the premier pediatric service provider in the greater Sacramento region and is based on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, CA. Sacramento is an easily accessible, family-oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay area, and Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the California Coast, and Napa Valley.


EXPECTATIONS

This position will provide outpatient pediatric orthopaedic non-operative care at UC Davis Health and Shriners Hospitals. This position will also include the teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as participate in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital, and departmental committees.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate must possess an M.D. (or equivalent degree) and must have completed an approved residency program with either Family Medicine, Pediatrics, or PM&R. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the State of California and/or have an active California medical license prior to appointment start date. Candidates must have experience in and the ability to teach medical students, residents, and fellows. Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and adhere to University policy and procedures. Demonstrated teaching experience in an academic clinical setting is preferred.
This recruitment is conducted at the Assistant or Associate rank. The resulting hire will be at the Assistant or Associate rank regardless of the proposed appointee's qualifications.
The salary range for this position at the Assistant level is $200,000-$265,000 or Associate level is $228,000-$285,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.
