Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Unified Communications (UC) Architect to lead the design, architecture, modernization, and optimization of enterprise communication and collaboration platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in voice, video, messaging, contact center, and collaboration technologies, with the ability to design scalable, secure, and highly available UC solutions that support global business operations.
This role requires a strong technical leader who can work closely with infrastructure, network, security, cloud, and business stakeholders to deliver modern communication solutions while driving strategic transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and design enterprise Unified Communications solutions supporting voice, video, messaging, conferencing, mobility, and collaboration services.
  • Lead modernization and migration initiatives from legacy telephony platforms to cloud-based UC environments.
  • Develop roadmaps for UC transformation, consolidation, and optimization.
  • Design highly available, scalable, and secure UC infrastructure solutions.
  • Partner with network, security, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure seamless integration and service delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership for implementation, migration, and operational support teams.
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to existing communication platforms.
  • Create architecture documentation, design standards, operational procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Troubleshoot complex UC issues and provide escalation support when required.
  • Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and business continuity requirements.
  • Lead vendor evaluations, technology selection, and proof-of-concept initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in Unified Communications, Voice, Collaboration, or Telecommunications engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience designing enterprise-scale UC architectures.
  • Deep expertise in one or more of the following:
    • Microsoft Teams Voice
    • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
    • Cisco Webex
    • Zoom
    • RingCentral
    • Genesys Cloud
  • Strong understanding of SIP, VoIP, PSTN, SBCs, call routing, dial plans, and voice gateways.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise voice and video environments.
  • Strong knowledge of network fundamentals including QoS, DNS, WAN, LAN, VPN, and network security.
  • Experience integrating UC solutions with contact center, CRM, and collaboration platforms.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience migrating from legacy PBX systems to cloud-based UC solutions.
  • Experience with:
    • Session Border Controllers (SBCs)
    • Direct Routing
    • Operator Connect
    • Voice survivability solutions
    • Contact Center integrations
    • Call recording and compliance platforms
  • Experience supporting global deployments across multiple regions.
