Job Summary

Signiant is a leader in media technology, with customers spanning the media and entertainment industry — including Disney, Ubisoft, the NHL, NFL, NBA, BBC, Viacom, and more. Our SaaS platform connects more than 50,000 companies across the global media supply chain, from Hollywood studios and broadcasters to sports leagues, streaming platforms, gaming developers, and post-production houses. (We even have an Emmy!)

Our company is low on ceremony and process and is really about getting out of your way so you can get stuff done. We have been successfully using an Agile development methodology for many years that empowers our software engineering teams to develop and advance our products with maximum efficiency and release frequency.

We are looking for a talented Technical QA Engineer / Quality Engineer to help our professional media SaaS application engineering team ship complex cloud and media software with confidence. You will be working in our Agile engineering team based in Germany, which is specialized in media workflows and media processing, building a scalable cloud-native SaaS solution for media indexing, transcoding, and media-aware workflows.

This role combines test automation, exploratory testing, release validation, frontend and API testing, and system-level quality work. We are looking for someone who can understand complex product workflows, identify quality risks, work closely with developers, and improve release confidence without slowing down delivery.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, SDET, or a similar technical QA role
  • Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated tests for web applications, APIs, and backend services
  • Good working knowledge of JavaScript/Node.js and the JavaScript ecosystem
  • Experience with API testing, integration testing, regression testing, and exploratory testing
  • Experience testing frontend applications, backend services, and cloud-based systems
  • Ability to understand complex systems and identify quality risks across user workflows, services, data flows, and infrastructure
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into development and release workflows
  • Ability to investigate failures using logs, metrics, test reports, browser developer tools, and other debugging information
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and a desire to work within a highly collaborative, fast-paced team
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality software and improving release confidence
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and improve testability
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another degree and/or equivalent experience

Nice to Haves:

  • 2+ years of experience in full-stack application QA demonstrated through previous projects
  • Knowledge of software deployment in a microservices environment
  • Familiarity with Microservices, REST APIs, and Software as a Service applications
  • Familiarity with deploying cloud services (particularly AWS) and serverless technologies
  • Working knowledge of React and modern frontend testing approaches
  • Experience with TestCafe, Jest, Playwright or similar frontend and end-to-end testing tools
  • Working knowledge of Java
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized test environments
  • Experience with media formats, media workflows or media processing pipelines
  • Experience with performance, scalability, reliability, or resilience testing
  • Experience improving CI/CD reliability and maintainability
  • Experience with AI coding tools

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze technical requirements documents to identify high-level test scenarios, participate in test plan definition
  • Build manual test scripts by identifying expected results and corresponding test data for execution. Look for the opportunity to script or automate where possible
  • Maintain the test suite up to date based on newly added features or changed existing functionality
  • Execute test scripts, capture results, and report defects
  • Meet deadlines by properly managing and prioritizing assigned tasks
  • Assess the impact of changes and identify corresponding test cases for regression testing
  • Propose solutions or workarounds to counteract problems encountered
  • Propose solutions, and find possible improvements to reduce work time and costs
  • Work closely with our SRE team to deploy your team’s features and fixes into the Signiant production environment
  • Define and execute practical test strategies for new features and releases
  • Build and maintain automated tests that provide fast and useful feedback
  • Perform exploratory testing of complex product workflows
  • Validate frontend, backend, API, and media-processing behavior
  • Improve release confidence and reduce manual regression effort
  • Identify gaps in test coverage and help the team address them
  • Investigate defects and work with developers to reproduce, understand, and resolve issues
  • Contribute to CI/CD quality gates and release readiness
  • Help ensure that quality remains a shared responsibility across the engineering team

What Signiant Offers You:

  • An opportunity to collaborate with a quality-minded team in a calm, low-ego environment
  • Access to the latest tools and technology related to full-stack development and testing, and a culture that thrives on continuous improvement
  • An opportunity to bring new ideas to life and improve our processes and our products (sometimes both at the same time!)
  • A learning culture where we are always trying new approaches to solving problems
  • A great benefits package including Development Days and a flexible hybrid workplace

Ready to work at a company that is a market leader in cloud-native SaaS and has some of the coolest customers in the world? Signiant would love to speak with you!
