Job description

As an Unmanned Systems Technician at HGC, you will play a crucial role in gathering photogrammetry data, aerial LiDAR data, terrestrial LiDAR data, sonar data, and many other critical pieces of information to keep projects moving smoothly. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist in the setup UAV / Terrestial control points.
• Pilot or act as visual observer of airborne UAV during data collections.
• Assist in keeping a record of and submitting field data and notes.
• Monitor equipment during collection periods.
• Process imagery and LiDAR Data.
• Maintain aircraft and other equipment.
• Attend training at HGC Academy.
• Utilize HGC's core values in daily duties.
• Understand, interpret, and follow goals and directions from leadership.
• Communicate professionally with everyone on site, including but not limited to supervisors, teammates, contractors, clients, and vendor partners.
• Maintain attendance at work, including presence at work during regular work hours or other scheduled hours as may be assigned by manager. Acceptance of overtime assignments also may be required to meet operational needs.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
Perform other various assignments as assigned.
Experience & Requirements:
• Part 107 Licensed
• UAV flight experience
• Survey Experience (GPS, Total Station, Staking, Topographic Mapping)
• Relevant technology experience (computers, aircraft, electro / mechanical systems)
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be highly motivated and willing to learn.
• Must be able to walk 2+ miles with a light load.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds above your head.
• Must enjoy working outside in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to understand project goals and direction.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug, fit for duty physical, and background screening.
• Must have reliable transportation and suitable driving record according to HGC insurance policy.
• Must be willing to work Monday through Friday 7AM-5:30PM, or other schedule as may be assigned by the survey managers, as well as Saturdays when needed.
Desired Skills:
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude towards learning
• Relevant technology experience (computers, aircraft, electro/mechanical systems)
• Associates/Bachelors/Equivalent field experience in the Surveying/Engineering space.

Essential Physical Demands of Work Environment/ With or Without a Reasonable Accommodation:
• Able to walk through varied terrain.
