Job description

Insitu is anticipating the need for UAS Operators at a Level 1 / Level 2 / Level 3 / Level 4 in the 3rd Quarter 2026, this opening is dependent on contract award. If you are interested in being considered for this role and meet the requirements below, APPLY TODAY!

What you'll do:

  • Operate and maintain unmanned aircraft systems in compliance with checklists and safety protocols.
  • Conducts preflight planning to include mission briefings weather forecasts, Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs), Special Instructions (SPINs) and airspace requirements.
  • Evaluates customer's mission requirements and determines operational needs.
  • Collect and analyze data obtained from flights; complete post-mission reports/logs.
  • Collaborate with team members and customers to plan and execute UAS mission.
  • Performs UAS and ground support equipment testing, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Coordinates with Company subject matter experts to resolve issues beyond the scope of field maintenance capability, as needed.
  • Conducts inventory of UAS spares/components and reports cycle counts.

Education & Experience:

UAS Operator Level 1 requirements:

  • Associates Degree in the Aviation Field; Military Aviation Experience
  • Currently has an active Secret clearance.

UAS Operator Level 2 requirements:

  • Associates Degree in the Aviation Field; Military Aviation Experience; or 1+ years of UAS Operator experience.
  • Currently has an active Secret clearance.

UAS Operator Level 3 requirements:

  • Associates Degree in the Aviation Field; Military Aviation Experience; or 3+ years of UAS Operator experience.
  • Currently has an active Secret clearance.

UAS Operator Level 4 requirements:

  • Associates Degree in the Aviation Field; Military Aviation Experience; or 6+ years of UAS Operator experience.
  • Currently has an active Secret clearance.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • A working expertise with Insitu tracking programs and library documentation is preferred.
  • FAA certifications (Pilot or A&P), deployed time or production experience are preferred but not required.

Travel Requirement:

  • Must be willing to deploy to remote locations and at times austere environments for 4-to-6-month assignments; willingness to travel up to 70% of the year.
