Summary of Job Duties:*This position will hire either an APRN or PA*
The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant works collaboratively with a physician and multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to outpatients. The APRN/PA is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

APRN:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing - Family Medicine

  • Three (3) years of nursing experience.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas

  • APRN License

  • Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification.

  • 1 year of APRN experience in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

PA:

  • Master's Degree - Physician Assistant

  • 1 year of PA experience in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care or Family Medicine

  • PA license

Preferred Qualifications:

APRN:

  • DNP

  • 4 years of nursing experience

  • 4 years of APRN experience in Gerontologyand/or Memory Clinic Experience

PA:

  • 4 years of PA experience in a Gerontologyand/or Memory Clinic Experience


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.

  • Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).

  • Work autonomously, as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.

  • Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, and assuring that care is timely and appropriate.

  • Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.

  • Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.

  • Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.

  • Other duties as assigned.
