Job description

Huntsville Hospital Heart Center is seeking candidates for Board Certified/Board Eligible Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologists to join our team. HH Heart Center is a wholly owned subsidiary of Huntsville Hospital, one of the largest non-profit health care systems in the nation.

Practice Information

  • HH Heart Center is one of the largest and most well-established groups of Cardiologists and Cardiac Surgeons in the Southeast
  • Huntsville Hospital is a regional referral center with 881 beds
    • 121 Cardiology beds, 34 Cardiac ICU Beds
  • Huntsville Hospital is part of the Huntsville Hospital Health System with 13 regional hospitals, 2,588 licensed beds, and 17,000+ employees
  • The Heart Center practice is composed of 28 general cardiologists , 10 interventional cardiologists (including 4 structural cardiologists), 5 electrophysiologists, 2 Advanced Heart failure cardiologists, and 6 cardiothoracic surgeons, with the following annual volumes:
    • 100,000+ clinic visits annually
    • 60,000+ non-invasive tests annually
    • 5000+ CTs
    • 16,000 Stress tests
    • 30,000+ cardiac ultrasounds
    • 12,500+ peripheral vascular studies
    • 12,500 cath lab procedures

    • 500+ structural procedures, including TAVR, MitraClip and LAAC

  • The practice provides robust inpatient and outpatient APP support
  • Tremendous provider support; upon hire, you will have a dedicated nurse, CMA, scheduler and chart preloader
  • Hospital and clinic are across the street from each other- no traveling to multiple hospitals
  • In-house Cardiac Rehab Program
  • In-house Anticoagulation Clinic Management
  • Largest hospital in the HH Health System and second largest hospital in Alabama

    • 9,000+ Heart Failure Clinic Visits
    • 8 Heart Failure NPs
  • Inpatient Heart Failure Navigator
  • Close collaboration with Vanderbilt Medical Center and UAB Medical Center for patients requiring LVAD/transplant, both within a 2 hour drive.
  • Clinical assistant professorship offering through UAB
  • Teaching opportunities for medical students from UAB, and residents from our in-house FM and IM residencies
  • Robust research division including opportunity to be the local PI on major national/international clinical trials

Requirements

  • BC/BE in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology
  • Unrestricted Alabama MD/DO license
  • Interest in pulmonary hypertension preferred but not required
