Job Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is accepting applications for a full-time, twelve-month faculty in the Health Physics (HP) Program, Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (CDS), School of Health Professions (SHP). The position is open rank and is tenure track eligible. A PhD in Health Physics or closely related field is required. Candidates are also expected to be Certified Health Physicists (CHP) or eligible to sit for Part 2 of the exam within four years of the start date. Preference will be given to individuals with research, teaching, and/or industry experience. The HP faculty candidate's primary responsibilities are expansion of the health physics research program, student mentorship and advising, and secondarily didactic instruction.
Required Qualifications
A PhD in Health Physics or closely related field is required. Candidates are also expected to be Certified Health Physicists (CHP) or eligible to sit for Part 2 of the exam within four years of the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to individuals with research, teaching, and/or industry experience.
