Job Summary:
GliaCell Technologies is focused on Software & System Engineering in Enterprise and Cyber Security solution spaces. They are seeking a Principal UX Developer to support a U.S. Government customer by providing technical expertise to sustain critical mission-related software and systems.
Responsibilities:
• The work offers flexible hours.
• You will join an experienced team working on efforts to modernize an existing data tracking and metrics system.
• You should be able to focus on developing highly usable end user interfaces, applying UI best practices, and UX principles.
Qualifications:
Required:
• An active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is REQUIRED.
• Twenty (20) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Note: Four (4) additional years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Five (5) years of experience with a strong background in user-centered design, UI best practices, usability testing, and the software development lifecycle (analysis, design, implementation, and deployment).
• Demonstrate working knowledge of Linux, CSS, JavaScript, and HTML to support UI design, troubleshoot design-related issues, and collaborate with development teams.
• Work closely with users (analysts) to research, develop, and document user profiles and user performance requirements.
• Conduct task analysis and workflow mapping and develop and test user scenarios.
• Develop UI design specifications and support documentation (e.g., wireframes, mockups, interaction behaviors, and design guidelines), as needed to support development efforts.
• Collaborate with product designers and process engineers to inform application design and ensure user-centered solutions align with workflows and requirements.
• Conduct accessibility and 508 compliance testing to ensure user interfaces meet regulatory and usability standards.
• Collect and analyze user feedback through surveys and behavioral data to guide design improvements and UX decisions.
• Work independently while collaborating effectively with small teams and larger cross-functional groups.
• Create interactive prototypes to validate design concepts and communicate interactions to stakeholders and development teams.
