Patient Document Technician
Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
We're seeking a Patient Documentation Technician to join our team! In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date records throughout the region in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Additionally, this role prepares and maintains patient information in the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and compliant electronic health records by scanning, importing, routing, and documenting medical records according to established workflows
  • Sort and process faxed documents, ensuring timely placement in the correct patient chart, clinic folder, or provider queue
  • Coordinate with clinic team members to deliver complete and accurate records for provider review and signature
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of medical documents, EHR workflows, and order release processes in compliance with UPC guidelines
  • Ensure protection of patient health information by monitoring environmental and security conditions

Qualifications
Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:
  • Preferred: Previous medical office experience
