YOUTH CAREGIVER - U.S. CUSTOMS & BORDER PROTECTION

SECURITY:

Candidates must undergo an e-QIP security clearance process, typically spanning 60-90 days. Commitment to this thorough process is essential due to its significant time and cost investment. You will not be eligible for employment until this process has been completed.

JOB SUMMARY:

U.S. Customs & Border Protection is looking for bilingual caregivers, who will perform the duties and responsibilities for Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) and Family Units (FMUA). The caregiver shall maintain a safe environment, observing and encouraging adherence to safety rules and health guidelines. This will include assisting with the general care of children performed at a level of quality and according to industry safety standards commensurate with those required of caregivers employed at state-licensed daycare facilities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: Not required. Will train in the following skills: personal care and toileting for children; basic hygiene and basic infection control; maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment; basic first aid and basic emergency procedures; understanding abuse and neglect.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a valid US Driver's License
  • Additional Certifications: CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • U.S. Citizenship: Individuals shall be U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Residents residing in the US for 3 of the past 5 years.
  • Language Requirement: Ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish.
  • Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

HOURS:

  • 12 hour shifts - 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
  • 3.5 days a week - Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat
  • Weekends & Holidays required
  • Shift times cannot be moved

Due to shift availability, you WILL be required to start on night shift. Please let us know if this is not an option for you.
