M&J is seeking Construction Inspectors to perform daily inspection of construction activities to ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and contract requirements.


• Perform daily inspection of construction activities to ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Monitor contractor operations including grading, drainage, paving, bridge construction, utilities, and traffic control devices.
• Prepare daily work reports documenting contractor activities, installed quantities, and inspection observations.
• Verify materials used on the project meet required specifications.
• Coordinate materials testing and verify results in accordance with TxDOT procedures.
• Monitor maintenance of traffic operations in accordance with the contract plans and TxDOT Traffic Control Plan standards.
• Report construction issues to the Senior Inspector or CE&I Project Manager.
• Maintain accurate field documentation for project records.


Required

  • Minimum 3–7 years of experience in transportation construction inspection.
    • NICET Level I or II certification in Transportation Construction Inspection or Construction Materials Testing.
    • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I certification.

Preferred

  • Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Certification.
    • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training.
    • ATSSA Traffic Control Technician (TCT) certification.
    • TxDOT Material Testing and Inspection precertifications (Category 12).
