Job description

Public Works Project Manager (PE) - Dallas / Fort Worth
Halff has an opening for a Public Works Civil Engineer, with their Texas PE License, to be our Project Manager with our Public Works team based out of one of our DFW offices. The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience in municipal roadway, drainage, and water/wastewater utility design, with 3 years of Project Management experience. This position requires strong design experience and project manager skills. What you will do:
  • Responsible for managing and overseeing the design and construction of municipal roadway, trails, drainage, and water/wastewater utility projects.
  • Conduct and manage design and plan production.
  • Manage clients and supervise technical staff.
  • Provide training/mentorship of other engineers.
What you will need:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas
  • At least 5 to 10 years of experience in municipal infrastructure design (minimum 3 years of Project Management experience)
  • Experience in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and general knowledge of local criteria including NCTCOG and/or TxDOT
  • Strong technical knowledge in municipal transportation and infrastructure design
  • Experience in trail/shared use path design is preferred
  • Ability to manage transportation, drainage, or water and wastewater projects and lead/mentor staff
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is required
  • Experience managing design and plan production
  • Ability to manage clients and supervise technical staff
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity and success
