Job description

Overview
Come join a team of dedicated and compassionate staff at a new 16-bed state-of-the-art Secure Residential Facility in Essex, Vermont. You will play an essential role in the person-centered treatment of adults with severe mental illness. The facility is over 17,000 square feet with a separate full-size gymnasium.
Starting rate may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications. We are currently hiring for the night shift. Night shift differential is $4.00 for all shifts worked and both shifts receive a weekend differential of $1.50/hour. Time and a half pay is included in hours worked over 80 hours in two weeks as well!
Incumbents in this position will utilize clinical assessment and judgment, demonstrating independent and autonomous decision making within the scope of RN practice. Able to plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of nursing care and coordinate care with internal and external partners. Responsible for the administration of prescribed treatments and medications. Partners with RN III to provide on-duty supervision for professional and paraprofessional nursing staff. May assist Nurse Educator & RN III in facilitating ongoing competencies/trainings with nursing staff.

Environmental Factors
Duties primarily performed in a clinical setting. Work may require travel off-site. Minimum Qualifications
Possession of, or eligible for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license AND two (2) years or more of professional nursing experience.

Possession of, or eligible for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license AND one (1) year or more of experience as a Registered Nurse I with the State of Vermont.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Special Requirements
Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections and is considered a condition of employment. The ability to work overtime when required is an essential function of this job class.
