Otolaryngologist (ENT Surgeon) โ€“ VA Medical Center (Onsite)

Location: Columbia, SC

Work Schedule: M-F, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; Flexible, 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

Position Summary: The VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC, seeks a Board-Certified Otolaryngologist to provide onsite ENT surgical and clinical care. This role offers a flexible schedule (2 weeks on, 2 weeks off) and requires an unrestricted medical license valid in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth. The Otolaryngologist will perform a full range of ENT surgical procedures and comprehensive clinical care for veterans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, comprehensive Otolaryngology services, including outpatient care and scheduled surgeries.
  • Perform a variety of ENT surgical procedures, including but not limited to: Thyroidectomy, Parotidectomy, Sinus Surgery, Head/Neck Cancer Removal, Pan Endoscopy.
  • Conduct postoperative evaluations for ENT patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and on general wards.
  • Attend and contribute to morbidity and mortality conferences, providing necessary case information for departmental reports.
  • Maintain punctual attendance for scheduled clinics and surgeries, ensuring physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the documented start time.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certification in Otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent.
  • Completion and upkeep of all continuing education courses required for maintaining certification.
