Job description

Overview:

Operators need to be familiar with many different types of equipment. This individual must be knowledgeable enough to do a complete walk around of the equipment to identify potential issues, services that may be needed, and fill out equipment safety check list forms each day. They must have the experience to operate in a safe and professional manner. Operators also need to be able to take measurements and determine load weights and lift calculations for critical lift situations. They will be knowledgeable of pipeline excavation safety procedures. This individual must have the ability to run most of the following Backhoe, Skid Steer, Bull Dozer, Track hoe, Extended Boom Forklift, 15-ton Galion, Swing Cab Crain and possess a valid NCCER Certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily equipment service and safety check
  • Physical ability to use hands and feet to safely control equipment while in operation
  • Make small mechanical repairs such as change filters and add fluids
  • Interpret hand signals to place material properly
  • Safely operate equipment on uneven ground
  • Assist in proper rigging and security of lifted materials and equipment
  • Understanding and complying with all safety rules of company and job site
  • Clean and maintain all equipment assigned to the operator
  • Duties may require administrative assistance with the project supervision
