Job description

Join our News Team as a Part-Time Photographer/Editor.

Responsibilities:
The Photographer/Editor is responsible for operating cameras, non-linear editing systems, microwave equipment, and cellular bonding equipment in support of electronic newsgathering operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in broadcasting or a related field, or equivalent experience required

  • Strong understanding of spot news coverage with an eye for creative storytelling

  • Ability to safely operate and maneuver a live truck

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

  • Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Strong communication skills and sound editorial judgment

  • Familiarity with Chicago city streets is a plus

  • Experience with Adobe Premiere preferred

  • 3-5 years of television news gathering, editing, and microwave experience required

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Become a member of IBEW local 1220 television broadcast engineers' union.
