OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Fox TV Stations
FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX Television Stations is looking for Regional Digital Content Creators to create and optimize content for four FOX owned-and-operated stations in the Midwest. As a Regional Digital Content Creator, you will coordinate with teams in Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis to publish stories, videos, and social content to engage with local users. You will be hyper-focused on quickly writing, producing and efficiently sharing compelling, easy-to-consume stories and information for digital and social users across the region.
This position is based in our Eden Prairie, Minnesota newsroom and reports into the Midwest Regional Digital Content Director.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Write and produce compelling, consumer-focused content related to news, events and relevant topics for audiences across the Midwest region. Content includes but is not limited to articles, videos, live streaming, photos/graphics, breaking news, and social media elements.
  • Work closely with local teams in the four markets, supporting their mission to engage their communities and build brand loyalty.
  • Optimize content for search engines (SEO), while constantly prioritizing the audience experience.
  • Attract and engage stations' social users on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and beyond.
  • Serve as additional digital resource for local digital creators, filling gaps in coverage or providing backup during major local events.
  • Work closely with local newsroom teams to ensure speed and accuracy of content.
  • Participate in local editorial meetings as required.
  • Collaborate with Group Content Team and other FTS markets to distribute high-interest stories at scale.
  • Follow our group standards while producing content and monitoring real-time analytics.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary and assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • 3-5 years of experience developing, optimizing and publishing content, including news, on digital and social platforms.
  • BA/BS degree preferably in journalism, communications or related field with an emphasis on digital publishing.
  • Proficiency in content management systems, search engine optimization (SEO), video publishing, live streaming, and digital analytics tools.
  • Impeccable writing and copy-editing skills with superior news judgement
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to thrive under deadline pressures in a fast paced newsroom environment
  • Top notch communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Social media expertise
  • Video and photo editing experience (Adobe products a plus).
  • Familiarity with the Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Minnesota markets.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $85,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
