The University System of Georgia (USG) is comprised of 25 higher education institutions as well as the University System Office (USO). Within the USO, our administrative operations are primarily housed in the Trinity Washington Building located in downtown Atlanta. Our Information Technology Services (ITS) division is located in Athens. The University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC) is located in Sandersville. The Georgia Public Library System is located in Atlanta. The Georgia Archives is located in Morrow. The State of Georgia Records Center is located in Austell.

The Georgia Film Academy supports a collaboration of institutions of the University System of Georgia, Technical College System of Georgia, and Independent institutions that offer professional courses in film, television, digital entertainment, Esports, and game development.
Job Summary
The Internship and Alumni Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the film and entertainment academic unit, its students, alumni, unions and the professional film and media industry. This role develops and manages a robust internship program, cultivates industry partnerships to create an internship pipeline, and fosters strong, engaged relationships with a large and geographically diverse alumni network. The manager also coordinates with campuses across the state to ensure workforce and career development goals are met uniformly.
Responsibilities
Workforce development and industry relations - 30%
Industry pipeline management: Cultivate and maintain strong, productive relationships with public and private sector employers, production companies, unions, support services companies and related industry partners to create and secure career pathways for students and graduates.
Labor market analysis: Gather and analyze labor market information, industry trends, and talent demands to inform curriculum and workforce development strategies.
Promote academic unit: Promote the academic unit and its skilled workforce to industry leaders through targeted outreach, participation in industry events, and strategic partnerships.
Maintain database: Develop and maintain a database of employers and industry contacts, ensuring regular communication and updates on industry needs.
Internship program management - 30%
Program development: Oversee the development and implementation of the unit's internship program, ensuring it is a platform for connecting students with incoming projects.
Student placement: Work with students to identify and secure meaningful, practical, for-credit internships at approved industry sites.
Coordinate across campuses: Ensure the internship program's eligibility requirements, application process, and credit structure are consistent and compliant across all participating campuses.
Oversight and reporting: Monitor internship placements to ensure positive student experiences and program effectiveness, providing reports on outcomes to academic leadership.
Alumni and current student relations and engagement - 40%
Build alumni network: Develop strategies to build and maintain an active, engaged alumni network across the state, fostering a lifelong connection between graduates and the academic unit.
Communications and events: Manage communication with alumni through newsletters, social media, and other channels. Plan and organize alumni-focused events, such as networking sessions, workshops, and reunions.
Mentorship programs: Establish and manage mentorship programs that connect current students with alumni to foster professional development and networking.
Support alumni giving: Collaborate with university development and fundraising offices to cultivate financial support from alumni.
Industry expertise: Serve as an alumni liaison, drawing on alumni expertise for curriculum development, guest lectures, and industry insights.

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
An Associates degree is required.
Required Experience
More than three years of experience performing clerical or administrative work in an office environment required.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as marketing, communications, or film studies is typically required.
Experience: Several years of experience in career services, workforce development, or alumni relations, preferably within the film and entertainment industry or a higher education setting.
Experience within a multi-campus system is highly desirable.
Relationship management: Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, from students and faculty to industry executives.
Industry knowledge: A deep understanding of the film and entertainment industry and its workforce needs is essential.
Program and data management: Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills to manage programs, track outcomes, and provide data-driven reports.
