Tutor Coordinator Jobs in Wisconsin (NOW HIRING)

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking a TRIO Student Support Services Tutor Coordinator to oversee the tutoring component of the federally funded TRIO Student Support Services Program. The program serves approximately 400 first-generation and low-income college students, as well as students with disabilities, at UW-Platteville.

The Tutor Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of the program's tutoring services, including hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling tutors to support student success. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible, academic-year (9-month) position that typically works August through May, with summers off. This is a grant-funded, four-year position with funding through May 2030. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of future grant funding. The salary is $45,000 per academic year.

• Provides general oversight of the program's tutoring component.
• Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates the program's tutors.
• Schedules all tutoring sessions, reviews tutors' lesson plans, mid-term and final evaluations, and coordinates related program logistics and resources.
• Oversees and approves all tutee payroll.
• Maintains respective forms and related record keeping.
• Assists the director in the collection of required statistics, including preparing and analyzing program data and outcomes and assisting with required reports and program assessment activities.
• Provides excellent customer service for student participants, tutors, and campus colleagues, and serves as a resource regarding program services, processes, and student support resources.
• Provides staffing and oversight for the STEM and Math Help Rooms.
• Assists in the development and implementation of workshops in the areas of financial literacy, course selection, graduate school advising, and financial aid.
• Develops, edits, and maintains program communications, informational materials, and other content to support student outreach and program initiatives.
• Participates in occasional program activities that may require night/weekend hours.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in education or a closely related field.

• A minimum of two years of experience providing academic assistance in a course content area or study skills, academic coaching, or advising.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Organizational skills, an ability to multitask and provide attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to understand and interpret university and federal grant policies and regulations.

• Computer skills pertaining to database management, form development, and standard office software.

• Experience working with diverse students including first-generation college students, students from low-income backgrounds, and students with disabilities.
