Job description

Amergis Staffing is currently seeking School Aide for the 2026/27 school year in the Orange, CA area.

Position Details: School Aide, Classroom support

Hours/Week: 32.5 hours weekly

Start Date: August 10th, 2026

Length: 26/27 School Year

Details: Grade Level Elementary-High, in person,

Pay: Local Rate: $22/hour

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers and school staff with classroom activities and daily routines
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students
  • Support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
  • Assist students with mobility, personal care, and therapeutic needs when required
  • Monitor and encourage appropriate student behavior
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
  • Follow all school and district policies and procedures

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-6 months of ABA Exp.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Compliance with professional standards of practice

Preferred

  • 3-6 months of Previous experience working with children in schools, childcare, camps, tutoring, or related settings
  • Current CPR certification (if required)
  • TB screening, PPD, or chest X-ray clearance (if applicable)
  • Current health certificate as required by state or district regulations

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee.  The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional. 


Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements   
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
